About The Event
For our Keynote, Mi'kmaq Nation citizen and UMaine School of Forest Resources PhD candidate Tyler Everett will present on the work of the Ash Protection Collaboration Across Wabanakik and related efforts to protect ash trees. Tyler will use a preservation value framework to demonstrate how diverse partners can unite to protect tree species in peril. His presentation will also weave in themes of progress in cultural access, land return, and co-stewardship, illustrating how these elements intersect with the challenges posed to the culturally significant brown ash trees by the emerald ash borer. We will also vote on adding three new board members:
