Join Maine Master Naturalist Val Watson to explore the Richardson Memorial Preserve at night! We will listen for the calls of nesting owls as we walk along the trail. If skies are clear, we'll stop in some open areas to look up at the stars and constellations and hear their stories.

About The Event

Join SRLT and Maine Master Naturalist Val Watson to explore the parts of the Richardson Memorial Preserve that are best seen at night! Late winter is nesting season for many owls, so we'll listen for their calls on the way down the trail. If skies are clear, we'll stop in some open areas for an astronomical break, looking at stars and constellations and hearing their stories. We'll spend some time exploring nighttime adaptations before heading back to the parking lot. The walk will be 1-1.5 hours depending on group interest, and families are welcome! RAINDATE: March 1
