About The Event
Visit SRLT's Albion Bread Farm easement property to experience how forage harvest which maximizes grassland bird reproduction has increased Bobolink numbers and learn how you can do the same. Landowners at the Albion Bread Fram have delayed cutting prime habitat until grassland birds fledge. SRLT holds a conservation easement on the property but the owners have willingly delayed mowing each year to encourage grassland bird nesting. Their land has been used for growing grains and raising farm animals. Enjoy an evening walk to observe Bobolinks in their preferred habitat. Led by SRLT Board Chair Tom Aversa. Come prepared for possible wet conditions, high grass, ticks and biting insects. No pets please. Park at the small building just beyond (north of) the residence.
